The wait is finally over! Bauer has created a very modern and innovative goal skate with the Supreme S190. The features of the S190 will change the way goal skates are manufactured for the future.
The Supreme S190 skate has been redesigned for 2016 with it’s first cowling-less boot. The S190 skate features the full composite outsole to reduce weight and increase stiffness for better energy transfer and maximum quickness.
A goalie specific toe cap has been added to provide increased protection through added thickness and stiffness. This feature is a modern upgrade over the previous cowling that was on its predecessor, the One.9.
The 2016 S190 is equipped with an asymmetric design to allow for better pushes from any stance. A shorter cut on the lateral side relieves pressure and allows a deeper stance while the taller cut on the medial side maintains protection and support. The tongue also features an asymmetric shape to increase comfort while the goalie is in their stance. The asymmetric design on the new Supreme skates specifically enhances the goalie’s ability to move around the crease.
Bauer built the S190 with a HYDRA MAX 2 liner for 2016. The HYDRA MAX 2 liner is a revolutionary liner technology that helps regulate the core body temperature of the goaltender, keeping your foot dry and locked in placed for complete control.
The revolutionary VERTEXX Edge holder is designed and developed to provide a greater attack angle by increasing overall skate height by 5mm and reducing traditional cowling material. The benefit to the goalie is a 10% better attack angle than Bauer’s original VERTEXX cowling for quicker and harder pushes while using less energy. The VERTEXX EDGE holder also features an innovative trigger system that allows goalies to change steel within seconds. The Supreme S190 also features elite grade LS2G steel that maximizes energy transfer and has superior surface finish for a cleaner and stronger sharpening edge.
